Namaste! Hello! Bonjour!
My name is Niranjan, and I proudly come from India, a land of diverse traditions and deep-rooted culture. I started my career in sales, learning more about the B2C space in the ed-tech industry, transitioned to sales recruitment—hiring a sales force of 500 a week—and eventually led Sales Development for North India towards the end of my stint with one of the most fast-paced organisations. During my 5+ years of experience in the ed-tech industry, I developed a passion for business, which motivated me to learn more in-depth about businesses, and now here I am, pursuing an MBA in the City of Lights—Paris.
An MBA will provide me with the much-needed international exposure, help me become industry-agnostic, and equip me with knowledge in finance, operations, leadership, and strategy. The program will also offer valuable networking opportunities through alumni, industry professionals, and, of course, professors. My intention is to bridge the gap between my current skill sets and the requirements of my targeted industry, and I believe an MBA is the key to achieving this.
As part of my work profile, I am accustomed to extensive travel and interacting with new people. One of the prime reasons for applying to ESSEC is its diversity. I aim to enhance my international perspective and expand my network through the B-school. ESSEC’s small cohort size, coupled with its collaborative approach, aligns perfectly with how my experience has shaped me. Beyond the core courses, I wish to study digital leadership and innovation, as my experience at Byju’s involved helping the company grow strategically and scale its revenue. A formal education in these areas will further strengthen my existing skill set.
In our diverse cohort, representing 20 nationalities and a wide range of professional backgrounds, the learning experience is truly extraordinary. The richness of perspectives broadens your understanding, offering unique insights that challenge conventional thinking. By engaging with such varied viewpoints, you not only gain a more comprehensive knowledge of global issues but also develop a more adaptive and well-rounded mindset.
If you’re a future MBA aspirant looking to learn more about my experience at ESSEC or the MBA journey, feel free to reach out—I’d be more than happy to chat and share my insights!
