Bachelor of Science, Major in Applied Mathematics with Specialization in Mathematical Finance, Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines)
Deciding to take a master’s degree can be a life-changing decision, however, it can also be a daunting challenge given the pace of change the world is going through. When the sanitary crisis made its way to the Philippines, I was given the opportunity to reflect on this decision and I decided to pursue a program that had the best fit for my background and my aspirations.
Through my experience leading projects involving digital transformation, I have become aware of the need to accelerate the development of digital solutions utilizing state-of-the-art processes. With the help of the Master in Strategy & Management of International Business (SMIB) program (Managing Digital Transformation & Innovation Track), I am on my way to achieving my dream of using automation and technology to improve the status quo and make a positive impact on people’s lives.
After finishing my degree in BS Applied Mathematics with Specialization in Mathematical Finance from the Ateneo De Manila University, I began my career as a Quantitative Analyst at Valens Research, where I saw how I could use technology to create meaningful changes in people’s lives by improving the way we made investments. As a Data Science Manager at AXA, this ideal was reinforced through my work in Natural Catastrophe Modelling and Natural Language Processing.
Given my experience so far, I believe that my decision to pursue the SMIB program was the right choice. The rigorous academic curriculum of the program coupled with the possibility to work with a diverse set of students has allowed me to develop my skills and get the support I need to go one step further in reaching my professional aspirations.
If you’d like to learn more about SMIB and the MDTI track, please feel free to reach out. I would be happy to help you go through any questions.
