Shanghai Yi Chuan high school
English & Chinese
Hello everyone! My name is Lilong Cao, but you can call me Laura.
I come from Shanghai, China and am currently a first year student at ESSEC Asia-Pacific in Singapore. Singapore is a wonderful country. Here, you can experience a mix of both Asian and Western culture through the different festivals, food and languages spoken. In Singapore, there are people from all over the world, therefore enabling you to meet and communicate with people from different backgrounds. I really enjoy the international environment present not only in Singapore but in ESSEC as well. All the friends that I have made come from various countries with different cultures.
I graduated from Shanghai Yi Chuan High School, where I majored in Chinese, Mathematics, English, History and Geography. Because I am interested in Chinese traditional culture, I have learned calligraphy and Chinese painting for nearly eight years. I have also picked up and learned how to play the Chinese zither and guitar. My interest in music and the arts have led me to join the music association in ESSEC. The associations in our campus are formed by students from different programs and is sponsored and supported by the school, which encourages students to join or create associations they are interested in.
I grew up and was exposed to a business environment at a young age, which led me to choose a business school to continue my studies. The main reason I chose ESSEC is because it is considered a high ranking school with a good reputation and has a flexible educational system. I knew that by choosing this school, life will never be boring because I will be attracted by various special activities, like the Business Intelligence Model Week, ESSEC Asia-Pacific Student Life Showcase, and a multitude of other associations and activities to take part in.
