If you’re reading this, that means ESSEC has caught your eye- likely because you’re the intelligent, intrepid, and adventurous type of student that ESSEC attracts. Welcome (:
My name is Claire, and I’m a 4th year Global BBA student. I’m American, born and raised in the suburbs of Seattle, besides 2 years spent in Mexico and Spain on exchanges. Those experiences changed my life, igniting a passion for Spanish, travel, and experiencing other cultures. I developed a hunger for alternative life experiences and seeing the world; hence, why ESSEC has been an incredible fit. The balance of academic excellence, cultural exploration, and “real-world” professional experience has made for the most impactful college experience I could have imagined.
I began my journey at the Cergy campus, followed by a semester at the Asia-Pacific campus in Singapore. I did an exchange semester at ESIC in Madrid in my 3rd year, followed by two internships in Dubai and currently in Seattle. Seeing my international experience translate to something that sets me apart from other candidates back home in the states has been beyond gratifying. I love that both companies I’ve worked for are startups, allowing me to learn new skills in a fast-paced and exciting environment. Visiting Station F, a startup hub in Paris, with our entrepreneurship class propelled me to seek out these types of high-growth environments. Now I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve gained skills in digital marketing, market research, data analysis, and countless other various skills (startups dip your toes in plenty of other departments and skills you may not have expected).
Whether you’re a current student or checking out ESSEC for your future plans, please feel free to reach out. It wasn’t so long ago that I was in your shoes, so I likely have answers to your questions on living/studying abroad (:
