Marketing Major & French Minor, University of Connecticut
Hello, salut ! While working with the top leadership of Rolex Watch U.S.A., Inc. in New York City as an Executive Assistant in the C-Suite, I saw a potential of working in the watch industry beyond that role. I dreamt of becoming an executive, like those who I was supporting.
After exploring the Luxury Brand Management major of the Global MBA program at ESSEC Business School, I realized that this opportunity was exactly what I needed to get there. Once arriving at ESSEC, I met my cohort with whom I shared the love of luxury brands and the savoir-faire behind them. It is clear to me that, even though I have a background in the luxury world, this program is for anyone who wants to transition their career into luxury in terms of the industry, role, or market. I couldn’t be happier with my choice, knowing that it is the first and best in the world to offer such a specialized MBA program. I can clearly see that with this education, I will be able to move further in the watch industry and create a career that merges two deep passions of mine - watches & music.
During my time with Rolex, I worked alongside the Public Relations Department on Events & Sponsorship. While many watch companies focus on sponsoring sports stars, there is also a union of watch brands and Art & Culture leaders, as you can see with the collaboration of Rolex's sub-brand TUDOR & Lady Gaga.
Anthea Davis, Director of Corporate Relations and Career Development and one of the founding members of the Luxury Brand Management major, has given me the confidence to believe that the career I'm dreaming of is possible and has been equally helpful in starting the process of choosing a mentor within the industry, with whom I will be able to discuss my vision for the future.
In conclusion, I truly could not be in any better location, in any better program, or in any better position to achieve my goal. I hope to see you on campus soon!
