Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering - Building Science, University of Southern California
My name is Akmal. After I finished my undergraduate program, I spent the first two years of my professional career as a designer at a boutique architectural engineering firm in Los Angeles. Subsequently, I transitioned to a multi-national oil and gas company working as an internal management consultant to setup a standard project management system and a central project management office. Then I spent nine years as project engineer for a multi-billion dollar integrated petroleum development starting from the conception phase until the completion of construction and commissioning.
Throughout the years, I’ve nurtured skills in architectural design, organization design and change management, capital project management, contracting strategies, and risk management. I decided that I needed fast track development in business skills since it’s important for me to have a global picture of any challenges and opportunities in a project, in an operation, or in any strategic corporate effort.
ESSEC Business School’s Global MBA program in France has been my preferred program primarily because of the boutique size of the cohort, its network of alumni and its visibility in the professional sector. The cohort is also very diverse and the school puts significant attention on the cohort’s career development from the get-go.
I am excited that you’re well on your way in your research and preparation to pursue further studies, especially a Global MBA at ESSEC! It boils down to your planning and your determination.
