I am glad that you are reading this message, as that shows you are interested in the MIM program of ESSEC and you are seeking for more information. I hope that what I wrote would be of some help to you.
Why this program? Back to year 2016, I was doing a summer internship in China and I did not know in which industry/function I would work in. As a business management major student, I had a profile that fits into many job descriptions, but I just could not decide which would be my calling. But one day I thought to myself: One’s career is so long and so full of uncertainty, why not take some time to discover more about the world and myself, make mistakes then learn from it, and eventually discover my passion.
I started the MIM program in the Singapore campus in 2017 and I did Finance track, then an internship in Singapore, before coming back to Cergy Campus. In my impression, Singapore is a melting pot with people from all kinds of nationality and background harmoniously living together and respecting each other. This kind of respect is not just a slogan; the government officialises important festivals of different country and make them national. Therefore, during the year, we have celebrated Diwali at Little India, Christmas with no snow, Chinese New Year at Chinatown, Hari Raya Pusasa by having a bountiful feast. It is indeed a gateway to Asia, with an easy access to Asian countries geographically and culturally. Our professors in Finance Track/Innovation Track/Business Management in Asia Track are mostly local working professionals that knows very well business context in Asia and not only try to teach us the knowledge but more specifically in the Asian context. In the end, I found a 5-month internship in Singapore and had a great time with my colleagues with very diverse backgrounds.
Due to the limited space here, I cannot tell you all about my experience/application process. If you have any question, you are welcome to send me a message and I will get back to you with a more detailed explanation. Good luck!
