It is our pleasure to invite you to the upcoming ESSEC Business School Masterclass, where Prof. Sofia Ramos will will share insights on the Current Trends in the Asset Management Industry.

About the Masterclass

The asset management industry plays a valuable role in an economy. Asset management companies administer the savings of millions of people and institutions and channel these funds to companies, governments and other organizations impacting economic growth.

In recent years, advances in computational, communication and financial technology have significantly impacted the asset management industry. During this Masterclass, we will identify leading current trends in asset management. In particular, we will look at the proliferation of asset management vehicles, the rapid growth of exchange traded funds, the rise of indexing and smart beta funds, and the downward pressure in fees.

Sofia Ramos is associate professor of finance at ESSEC Business School. She is associate editor of the European Journal of Finance and member of board of directors of the European Financial Management Association (EFMA). She obtained her Ph.D. in Finance from the Swiss Finance Institute -University of Lausanne.
